Hazel's Birthday Party

Hazel had her 4th birthday on Mt. Philo today and what a great party it was! Christine did a wonderful job and the party was definitely a success! All that worrying for nothing :)

Alicia drinking orange bug juice...hey it matched her dress so why not?

"I coming Mama, I coming!!"

The group--lots of different people!

The "Parachute" game was a hit--Alex couldn't find an edge to grab because everyone wanted to play!

Oh Yeah!

Did I mention I also made an apple pie? I had a bag of small sour green ones so I figured why not since I was already making the blueberry! I used a pre-made crust though...I'm sure it will taste much better!!!

It was VERY lumpy!!

I had fun making the little slits

Mmmmmmmm ready to come out!

The finished pies! I would put them on the windowsill but I have too many plants!

BooBerry Pie-yi-yi

I decided to make my own crust..... problem is I don't own All-Purpose Flour...only whole grain! Soooooooooo it was a little crumbier than I had wanted....

After I wrestled the crust into the pan I put the sugar coated blueberries in!

My first experience with my own rolling pin!

Just before putting it in the oven! I decided to go with the lattice top because it was such a bear getting the crust to stay together in a big sheet.

Blueberry Pickin' Time!

After I dropped Alex off at Art Camp (lucky dog got to do tie-dye today!) I brought Alicia to Charlotte's Blueberry Picking fields to meet Christine and Hazel. I would have taken more pics of them but it started pouring rain and thundering once we got picking! Not that that stopped me from getting 2 pounds of berries....

The bushes

Alicia wanted to sit in the stroller

What was left for a pie after we attacked the ones we picked!

More sunset pics

Jamie and I went to the Brew Fest on the Waterfront in Burlington tonight. I brought my camera just in case there was a killer sunset and guess what? There was! At first it didn't look like much was going to happen as far as color. Then as the sun went down it got very pink and turned out gorgeous! The camera had trouble focusing once it got pink because there was nothing solid for it to grab onto but the pictures are still nice...

Around 7:30pm at the Breakwater

I just love sailboats in front of the blue mountains!

See?!?!

If you squint you can almost pretend its a palm tree!
